MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)
The MOPS purpose statement reads, ‘MOPS International exists to encourage, equip and develop every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader in the name of Jesus Christ.’ Our church has the opportunity to live out this statement by ministering to roughly 30 moms, 70 children and 40 church members and volunteers. MOPS has allowed the mothers within our church to become even closer.
“For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”
Matthew 18:20 NIV
MOPS meets at 5:30 pm on the third
Tuesday of each month.

Friendship Mariners is a social organization, based on a nautical theme – with Christ as our Pilot, the Bible as our compass, and the church as our anchor.
Membership is open to all adult members or friends of First Presbyterian Church.
Friendship Mariners meets the first Wednesday of September – May at 6:01 PM at the church. Please see the church calendar or call the church office for further information.
Women’s groups in the Presbyterian Church have a powerful history. Since the early 1800s Presbyterian Women have organized themselves to support mission and combat social injustices nationally and internationally. Our local PW group was founded in 1881 as the Women’s Missionary Society. The group has continued since that time to reach out to women of all ages within the church.
Membership in Presbyterian Women is open to all women.
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves
to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
to support the mission of the church worldwide,
to work for justice and peace,
and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise
of God’s kingdom
Besides hosting a general meeting 4 times per year, the women also meet in small groups called circles. These monthly circles offer a bible study and time for prayer and fellowship. The bible study this year is “An Abiding Hope” using Exodus and Deuteronomy.
•Sarah Circle meets at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month, in the church library.
• Ruth Circle meets at 1 p.m. on the third Friday of each month in the church library.
•Rebecca Circle meets at 1 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month in the church library.
Women of all ages are invited to attend the group of their choice and are always welcome at any of the meetings. We look forward to seeing you there.
It is our mission to help others experience God’s love through our sewing projects. Women meet the third Saturday nearly every month in the parlor from 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon. (Check the church newsletter for exceptions and additions.) Blankets and quilts are made for Laramie County Blankets for Kids and the homeless in Cheyenne. Baby blankets and hats, as well as little dresses, are made for children in Africa. Quilts are also sent to California to Alzheimer patients in a special health project.
