The Connection
Welcome to First Presbyterian Church Youth Ministries! We are excited that you chose to check us out on the web! We pray that you will check out some of the things we do during the week. On Sunday mornings at 9:15am we gather together for The Connection where we strive to connect with each other and with God. There are tons of things going on in our lives and around the world but how does God connect with us in our lives? During this hour we share about ourselves, we laugh together, pray together, study together, eat together, and Connect with God. Come join us every Sunday morning in the youth room for this time of Connection. Our next study is listed further down on this page. |

Ichthus
Sunday evenings we have been doing something new! After two years of fellowshipping together as students we are now going to worship together too! We have started our new youth worship service during our youth group time. This is now called Ichthus: Jesus, Christ, of God, the Son, Savior. Are you looking for a time of fellowship, fun, worship, service, and growth? If you are, join us for Ichthus every Sunday night from 6-8pm at the church. Come see how worship is not just a Sunday morning or evening thing, but an everyday, life thing.
Bible Study
Are you looking to dig in deeper in the Word of God? Are you looking for more accountability? Are you seeking deeper fellowship and challenges from your peers? If you answered YES to any of these questions, come join us for JH and SH Bible Study every Wednesday night from 6:30-8 p.m. This is a time of great renewal, refreshment, prayer, and digging into the word. We always walk out of Bible Study blessed and encouraged! Come join us!
WEDNESDAY BIBLE STUDY
Every Wednesday night is Wednesday Night Live. This is an all church event that happens every Wednesday. We start with dinner at 5:30pm (all ages together) and then at 6:30 we split up into our different ages. We go to our normal Wednesday Night Bible Study from 6:30-8pm. We study different topics from the Bible that relate to their lives as Christians in a changing world. Here's what's coming up:

Jesus With Dirty Feet:
A Down-to-Earth Look at Christianity for the Curious and Skeptical
by Don Everts
“Most folks think of Jesus as the man who started Christianity. But it turns out he wasn’t just a man, and he wasn’t interested in religion. Many folds think of Jesus as an otherworldly religious leader, a great moral teacher, or maybe they don’t think of him at all. But he had dirty feet, partied, cooked breakfast and got himself killed. Who was this guy? Why did people hate him so much? And shy should I care?”
“…A glance at Jesus unencumbered by stereotypes…you may be surprised at what you see.” -( taken from back of the book).

Contents of the book
- Christianity – organ music or smelly fishermen?
- Jesus’ Identity – good man or God man?
- Jesus’ Friends – religious snobs or moving bowels?
- Jesus’ Teaching – common sense or offensive ideas?
- Christians – wallflowers or revolutionaries?
- Repentance – sitting in the corner or dancing a jig?
- Church – steeple or people?

Meet Our Youth Director
Hello, I am Laura Perry the youth director here at First Presbyterian Church. It has been a huge blessing these last two years to be serving the students and families at First Presbyterian Church! I have grown so much because of what you, the students, teach me everyday. It is always a blessing for me to get to know you better, share time with you, pray with you, laugh with you, and grow with you. There are people all over that say that you, the students, are the future of the church. I don’t believe that! You are the Church right here and right now! You are a valid member of this family, the family we are all connected with through Christ. You have a very special and important in the life of the church now and it is my hope that we encourage you to take your part in this family. I pray that as you seek out who God is, what part He has in your life, that you would be drawn closer and closer to His heart. I am always available if you have any questions, concerns, praises, or just want to talk. Call me anytime!
